"Being an allopathic medical practitioner, I thoroughly understand the benefits of allopathic medicine. However, I am also aware of the limitations of its applicability in many simple and complex diseases. Therefore when it came to treating the repeated respiratory infections and allergic patches on the forearms and legs of my 3 year old daughter I sought to homeopathic medicine. There are very few people in Pune who understand and practice homeopathy in its true sense. Dr. Amit Karkare is one of them. I knew him since a long time as a medical practitioner and had full faith in him that he would offer genuine homeopathy medicines. I knew that he would not make fallacious claims regarding the success of his therapy.
It has been five months since we started his treatment for my daughter. It was targeted at treating the allergic patches on her extremities and building up her immunity, in general. Dr. Karkare first examined her clinically and started the medicine. The medicine being in the form of sugar coated small pills is easily acceptable to my three year old. I must say, that this is the only medicine which she takes willingly without any complaints. We really have to struggle to give her other allopathic medicines. After the treatment was started the allergic patches disappeared within 2 -3 weeks and have not recurred since then. Some times she had some minor itchy red patches but they got cured immediately and never exaggerated. With respect to her common cold the attacks lowered in frequency and intensity. During all this time we haven't seen any side effects of the homeopathic medicine.
Though I have not learnt and understood the homeopathic principles actually, I do recommend this alternative therapy to some of my own patients, if allopathic medicine has not much to offer them. However, it is extremely important to advocate the homeopathic treatment judiciously and with complete responsibility of understanding its consequences, by very competent physicians like Dr. Amit Karkare."
